Imaging The World Partners with Rotary to improve Ultrasound Services in Ssesse Islands

Imaging the World/Imaging the World Africa together with local Rotary clubs of Kiwatule and Kampala Ssese Islands have in the past 2 years worked on a proposal for a match funded project with the Rotary club of Wilmette. This project came to realization this year, with a team from ITWA and ITW-CHERI having pre-implementation meetings with teams of the Rotary Club of Kalangala, Rotary club of Kampala Ssese and officials from Kalangala district local government. Subsequently, a site assessment was done at earmarked clinics which included St. Elizabeth Bumangi HCIII, Bwendero HCIII, Mugoye Health Centre III, Kalangala Health Centre IV and Bwendero HCIII. The training for 9 health workers – 3 from each clinic is underway at ITW-CHERI in basic obstetric ultrasound and that is is supervised by radiologists, sonographers and radiographers
