Report from South Carolina
It was an honor to share our experiences with the leading professionals from around the world in the field of ultrasound at the First World Congress on Ultrasound in Medical Education event in South Carolina.
It was a valuable experience with multiple great learning opportunities for professional growth and improving personal ultrasound skills. Ultrasound is at the leading edge of technology and its diagnostic use is rapidly advancing. We were able to attend multiple ultrasound workshops to enhance our diagnostic skills including the FAST exam, vascular access, evaluation of deep vein thrombosis, evaluating dyspnea and fever with ultrasound, and diagnostic shock protocols.
It was incredibly inspirational to hear so many people, from multiple disciplines, including radiology, anesthesiology, primary care, emergency medicine, and obstetrics and gynecology, who are so passionate about ultrasound and the impact that it can have in every aspect of healthcare, including improving patient safety and providing the best care possible for patients. It has motivated us to try and incorporate more ultrasound in our medical education, along with even more excitement for staying involved in the projects that ITW has developed.
