Congratulations to Joyce Nayiga on her graduation from Medical School!

DSC02363 We first met Joyce while she was a sonographer at ECUERI. She was very involved in our first pilot at Nawayango. Recenlty she sent along these kind words:

"Dear Dr. Kristen; actually I should call you mentor,

Greetings! Hope you are well and everything is great!

It is late Wednesday evening but am so intensely energetic and overflowing with gladness knowing that I have been able to successfully complete medical school. This journey has been long, though sometimes it feels like yesterday, and sometimes it feels like someone else’s memory… (Attached is part of my med school memorabilia)

I can vividly recall the first time we met here in Uganda, when you offered your support as the ITW team, I had never been happier in my life because this help was so timely!Thank you for helping me crystallizes my vision so clearly, that I can almost touch it. I am thankful to you and ITW for all the help and support.

After all this, I am surely not the same person! What has happened to me gives me an impression of one who has gone through a crisis of revolution. To me, this revolution is simply a new definition of my purpose as a medical professional which has therefore changed a lot about my old ideologies and views and I would therefore like to give back in any way possible!

Well, once again i want to thank you so much for especially mentoring me!

Warm Regards Joyce Nayiga."

We are so lucky to have Joyce working with ITW and know that she will have a significant impact on many Ugandans in her practice. Congratulations Joyce on all that you have accomplished!
