New ultrasound screening rooms have been installed at three level III health clinics in the Gulu district of Uganda and two nurses at each of the clinics are being trained and supervised in ultrasound scanning by Imaging the World Africa.

The clinics are managed by the St. Marys Lacor Hospital in Gula, with each clinic staffed by clinical officers, registered midwives, enrolled midwives and nurses, lab technicians, and nursing officers. While the central Lacor hospital has previously been equipped with ultrasound equipment and staffed by sonographers, ultrasound is completely new to the satellite clinics and the communities they serve.

The Lacor hospital is over 300 km from Kampala and each clinic is located 30-50 km from the central hospital.
